Vaporooter pioneered the chemical root control industry over 40 years ago to extend the useful life of sewer systems while eliminating maintenance costs.
Vaporooter foam is a unique combination of herbicides that is placed in sewer lines to kill roots on contact and inhibit future root growth. Only roots within the pipe and a very short distance outside the pipe are affected; trees and shrubs immediately above ground are not harmed. Vaporooter is composed of:
- A herbicide which penetrates root cell walls and then bursts them; causing the root to die and decay.
- A root growth inhibitor that attaches to surface-active organic material to inhibit further root cell division and growth for up to 3 years.
- A surfactant blend that strips away grease and slime from the roots permitting deep penetration into the root mass.
- A foaming agent which provides a durable, fine-textured “vehicle” to carry Vaporooter into maximum contact with roots and pipe surfaces through professional application.
