Charles Edwin Stringer, Jr. of Combine, TX, born Oct. 29, 1947, passed away on May 30.
Stringer was a resident of Combine, TX for 31 years and served as mayor for 14 years. He is a graduate of East Texas State University (Bachelor of Science) and the University of Texas at Arlington (Master of Science and Master of Civil Engineering).
Stringer worked with the City of Dallas Water Utilities Department for 41 years in various positions and retired as assistant director, after which he worked for CB&I (formerly Shaw) for two years.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Karen Lynn; their son, Charles and wife Olie; five grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Stringer is also survived by his brother, Gary and wife Mary along with many nieces, nephews.
