NASSCO: Active Year Marks Diverse Efforts For NASSCO

Welcoming a new executive director, continuing programs to establish and improve wastewater infrastructure standards, and educating the industry about maintaining and rehabilitating sewer infrastructure kept members and staff of NASSCO busy throughout 2018.

“The year 2018 was a pivotal year for NASSCO [National Association of Sewer Service Companies],” said Tim Vivian, the association’s president. “NASSCO continues to grow, finishing 2018 with over 600 members. We have a variety of initiatives that will strengthen the trenchless industry for years to come. In 2018, Sheila Joy became NASSCO director, assuming the role of the organization’s leader and standard bearer. Training was strong in 2018, especially in the areas of PACP, LACP and MACP with training conducted throughout the year.”

NASSCO Begins New Leadership Era in 2018

Sheila Joy was named NASSCO director in April 2018. A graduate of California State College with a BS degree in business administration, she has held marketing positions with companies in California and Washington, D.C.

She became involved in the underground construction when she began serving a client who was a NASSCO member and subsequently worked with others in the industry.

These connections led to work directly for NASSCO providing marketing and public relations assistance and preparation of news releases. Since becoming NASSCO director, Joy has become PACP/LACP/MACP-certified, plans to take the confined space entry training, and become ITCP certified.
