Operation Santa Claus Gets Boost from Godwin Pumps

Bridgeport, N.J.-based Godwin Pumps teamed up once again in 2009 with Sunoco Philadelphia to participate in Operation Santa Claus, a gift drive organized by the Office for Youth and Young Adults of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia.

The drive is non-sectarian, and finds information on those who will receive gifts through various local community organizations.

Chuck Heintz, Godwin’s Northeast Sales Manager, learned of Operation Santa Claus through John Farrington, Sunoco Oil Refinery’s equipment coordinator, who has collected toys for the campaign for more than 20 years. Last year, thanks to the Godwin and Sunoco employees, the project reached a milestone of more than 9,000 items distributed.

“For many of these kids, the gifts they receive from Operation Santa Claus are the only ones they’ll have on Christmas morning,” said Heintz. John Paz, Godwin’s president, said, “This drive is important because it reaches out to those that wouldn’t otherwise be able to celebrate the holiday season. This has been a very difficult year, for some more than others. We’re fortunate that our great people were able to continue to make donations to help this great cause.”
