Rehab Focus: Bypass Pumps and Pumping

Bypass pumps from Gorman-Rupp, Thompson Pump, Godwin Pumps, Rain for Rent, Global Pumps and Griffin Dewatering.

Gorman-Rupp
The new PAV3B60C-3TNV70 three-inch pump uses a patent-pending vortex impeller with Gorman-Rupp’s Staggerwing (staggered-winglet) design. The design allows this model to pass a 3-inch solid through all critical areas of the pump. The pump is powered by a Yanmar water-cooled diesel that is EPA certified to meet Interim Tier IV emission standards. This product soon will be expanded to include an electric motor driven version for use on permanent installations or where engine-driven units are not preferred. 419.755.1011, grpumps.com

Thompson Pump & Mfg.

With its heavy-duty cast-iron construction, alternate self-priming and wet priming capability, this trash pump works efficiently in construction, industrial and wastewater applications. The 6TSC-DJDST-4045D ENVIROPRIME Trash Pump is designed for moderate flows (max to 1,610 gpm) and heads to 136 feet and can handle spherical solids to 3 inches making it perfect for sewage bypass or general construction dewatering. This pump features the ENVIROPRIME compressor-assisted priming system that allows the pump to be environmentally safe. The unit is available with removable drop-on Silent Knight sound enclosure that allows the pump to operate at 67dBa. 800.767.7310, www.thompsonpump.com

Godwin Pumps

 width=
The Godwin 4-inch Heidra 103 hydraulic submersible pump is a compact, self-contained pumping unit featuring a diesel driven power pack and a 4-inch submersible hydraulic top discharge pump. With variable speed diesel engine power, the Heidra 103 pump can meet a variety of flow and head requirements up to 1,000 gpm, total dynamic heads to 170 feet and solids handling to 3 inch in diameter. The HS103 is a cast iron pump with cast chromium steel impeller ideal for sewer bypass and municipal sludge applications.

The unique top discharge design on the HS103 enables the pump to fit through a 21-inch diameter opening. The simple-to-maintain gear motor with “plug-in” connection allows for quick changeover when needed. A standard Godwin PrimeGuard Controller provides programmable operations including setting maintenance timers and automatic starting and stopping. A safety shutdown system in the engine controls prevents equipment damage from engine fault or failure, while the integral 60 gallons fuel tank capacity provides hours of continuous operation. “Quick Disconnect” hydraulic fittings simplify setup, installation and shutdown of the HS103. 856.467.3636, www.godwinpumps.com

Rain for Rent

With a remarkably high flow rate, up to 10,000 gpm, the 12-inch DV-300c-E Power Prime pump, sold and rented by Rain for Rent, handles 3-inch solids, has a variable frequency drive (VFD), and produces total dynamic head up to 190 feet. The VFD and inverted rated motor use the available 250-hp only as necessary to produce heads and flows otherwise unavailable with standard electric pumps. The DV-300c-E is up to 84 percent efficient at BEP, providing even more energy savings. 800.742.7246, www.rainforrent.com

Global Pump
 width=
The Global HYD (Hydraulic Submersible) series of pumps range in sizes from 4-12 inch with flows of 625 to 8,000 gpm. They are also capable of handling solids up to 5 inches. Practical applications include, but are not limited to, sewer bypass and liquid transfer. These hydraulically driven submersible pumps are driven by diesel powered hydraulic units. The hydraulic submersible pumps are not affected by suction lift limitations. These pumps can operate where electric power is not available, and in applications where the suction lift exceeds that of other pumps. The hydraulic power units are available in skid or highway legal trailer formats. Other hydraulic tools and equipment may also operate from the power unit. 866.360.7867, www.globalppump.com

Griffin Dewatering
 width=
Griffin Non-Clog Pumps feature a non–clog impeller capable of handling stringy materials and solids up to 4 ½ inches and a large clean out port for hassle-free removal of large debris over 4 ½ inches without removing suction pipe or hose. These pumps can deliver flow over 17,000 gpm and head capacities of 240 feet or more. Griffin non-clog pumps are an ideal solution for sewer bypasses, flood control, sumping, or any other application requiring high volume and the ability to move trash laden effluent. The pumps are available in vacuum-assist, diaphragm prime or compressor prime; and with electric or diesel powered engines. 866-770-8100, www.griffinpump.com
