Trenching Tool Blocks Provide Greater Durability, Functionality
Kennametal Inc. has introduced new trenching and surface mining tool blocks, designated MTB1 and MTB2S MyT Blocks.
These blocks, in long- and short-body styles, are an improvement over the company’s TH3 line; they are harder, stronger and easier to use.
The arger, heavy-duty barrel offers excellent rigidity and durability during rugged chain trenching and surface mining. The J-chamfer is the proper lean angle for gage cutters and provides 25 percent more area for welding the block onto the machine. The new cannon feature boosts tooth rotation. A flatter bottom gives greater stability during operation. Kennametal also has improved its control of critical dimensions, such as the bore, during manufacturing. This makes the tool fit more securely to penetrate in even the harshest trenching and mining applications. Like the TH3 line, an ample rear boss simplifies clip removal/insertion and provides easier access to the rear of the block. 800.458.3608, www.kennametal.com
