Bobcat Co. helps fight North Dakota floods

In response to the flood threat in the Fargo-Moorhead, ND, area, home to Bobcat Company’s world headquarters, more than 100 Bobcat employees and equipment helped prepare for major flooding in the eastern part of the state and battled flood conditions in the west and central areas.

(Editor’s note: For more on industry response to recent flooding, see how Rain For Rent rose to a challenge.)

Volunteers worked around the clock to help fill and place more than two million sandbags, build flood walls along the Red River, provide meals and answer phones at the volunteer center. Bobcat’s donation of more than two dozen machines and 40 volunteer operators helped accelerate National Guard efforts to more efficiently fill a portable floodwall system throughout the city.

Employees in both Gwinner and Bismark ramped up volunteer efforts as well to support neighboring communities who battled overland flooding and washed out roads. Bobcat dealers around North Dakota also helped their communities by supplying equipment and resources toward flood fighting.
