Brotherton Pipeline, Direct Horizontal Merge

Two North American firms that specialize in horizontal directional drilling, Brotherton Pipeline and Direct Horizontal, have merged their equipment and workforce to form Brotherton-Direct.

The Oregon-based Brotherton Pipeline, founded in 1984, has been active in the installation of gas transmission lines, distribution lines, plastic services and other underground utilities, with experience in directional drilling, jack and bore and auger casing bores.

Meanwhile, Direct Horizontal, established in 2000, has worked in annular pressure monitoring and modeling, as well as oilfield downhole mud motors for hard formation drilling.

Brotherton Direct is currently undertaking its first project, which involves drilling a 1.6-km (1-mile) intersect in Oregon. www.bplinc.com, www.directhorizontal.com
