TT Technologies
Grundomat can perform accurate horizontal bores from 50 to 150 feet in length. The Grundomat can be used in all displaceable soils: sand, loam and even gravel and is easily configured to pull in a wide variety of new pipe materials. The reciprocating stepped-cone chisel head action of the Grundomat tool is unique because it hammers away at solid obstacles. This two-stroke action means that the piston’s impact is concentrated on the reciprocating tool head for optimum boring performance. In addition, the tool has minimal impact on the environment as it utilizes natural biodegradable lubricants. The Grundomat is ideal for electrical contractors and FTTH installations. 800.533.2078, tttechnologies.com

Footage Tools
All Big Shots (pneumatic piercing tools) are CNC machined to exact dimensional tolerances from a solid billet of nickel chromoly steel and fully heat treated for superior strength and wearability. The pistons are designed to withstand high impact conditions, are wear resistant and treated with an anti-corrosive phosphate coating. Big Shots are available in 2-, 2.5-, 3- and 4-inch diameters. Other features include an easily replaceable cartridge style shock absorber and a flexible air tube assembly to minimize internal deflection. 888.737.3668, footagetools.com

The Catamount line of piercing tools from HammerHead offers the industry a reciprocating head tool that is easy to start, regardless of air pressure level, and is effective in both hard and soft soil conditions. The Catamount tool line is currently available in 2.5-, 3- and 4.375-inch diameter tools. The Catamount head is driven by air that resets the head, eliminating the need for mechanical springs and allows for a faster and easier start by eliminating the need to overcome recoil. The patented Power Port quarter-turn reverse feature pneumatically locks the tool into forward or reverse gear, preventing accidental direction change during the bore. The valve whip is designed to be flexible, preventing tool binding if a bore collapse occurs. A one-piece body made of heat-treated alloy steel allows HammerHead to use a much heavier striker, increasing overall impact force. The one-piece body also provides better durability and tool life. 800.331.6653, hammerheadtrenchlesss.com

Allied Construction Products
The 1 7/8-inch class Model HH–46 underground piercing tool is an American-made, premium quality tool. The length to diameter ratio and one-piece body design combine to keep the Model HH–46 going straight to minimize deflection. The Model HH–46 is available with a standard non-threaded, pierced nose. It is designed to be smaller for shorter “shots” and to allow the excavation of a shorter entry and exit pit. The design is especially intended for the fiber optic industry in delivering high-bandwidth internet and superior video services to households. It has an outside diameter of 1.83 inches, operates on 10 cfm of air to develop an operating pressure of 110 psi and has a percussion rate of 625 blows per minute. 800.321.1046, www.alliedcp.com
