Mini Skid Steers: Equipment Spotlight

Mini skid steers from Vermeer, Bobcat and Ditch Witch.

Vermeer
The new S650TX skid steer features a four pump hydraulic system that delivers hydraulic fluid flow of 13.75 gallons per minute. An innovative frame design with idler positioned close to the front attachment plate improves overall lifting capacity and reduces overall machine weight, avoiding the need for additional counterweights at the rear of the machine. Tipping capacity is 1,890 pounds with a rated operating capacity of 660 pounds. The S650TX is equipped with a 24.8 hp Kubota diesel engine and is available with either 7- or 9-inch rubber tracks. The machine measures 91.5 inches in length when outfitted with a standard bucket. A spring-cushioned platform keeps operators out of mud and debris. The skid steer is equipped with an operator presence system that suspends ground drive and attachment motion if the operator steps off the machine. 888.837.6337, vermeer.com

Bobcat
 width=
No need for wheelbarrows, shovels or other hand tools when you roll onto tight jobsites with this impressive machine. Just three-feet wide with a bucket, the Bobcat MT52 mini track loader fits through gates, doorways or other narrow spaces with ease. It works and maneuvers in cramped spaces just as easily. Use it to sweep warehouse floors, prepare lawns for seeding, bore under driveways for utility lines and much more. bobcat.com

Ditch Witch

The Ditch Witch SK650 is equipped with a 31-hp Kubota turbo diesel engine and is designed to direct 20 net hp to the attachment, enabling this small-platform unit to outperform other machines of comparable size, the maker says. The SK650 also features an 8-gallon exterior-mounted fuel tank and an exterior-mounted hydraulic tank for improved capacity and efficiency. Quick-disconnect attachment fittings enable attachments to be changed with the hydraulic system under pressure, which speeds productivity. 800.654.6481, ditchwitch.com
