Aegion hires senior vp-international, awarded contract for Fibrwrap

Aegion Corporation announced that Thomas E. Vossman has accepted the position of Senior Vice President-International. Based out of Houston, Vossman will be responsible for the overall growth and profitability of Aegion’s Water and Wastewater platform (Insituform Technologies Inc.) in Asia, Australia and Europe, as well as the company’s Asian Commercial and Structural platform (Fyfe Asia).

He worked for Insituform Technologies from 2004 to 2008, achieving the level of senior vice president and chief operating officer. After 2008, Vossman served as president and chief executive officer of Inland Industrial Services Group before joining Aegion in August 2012 as their consultant to India.

Vossman earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the U.S. Military Academy (West Point) and a Master of Science degree in Engineering/Economic Systems from Stanford University.

In more company news, Aegion’s subsidiary, Fyfe Hong Kong Limited, has received a three-year contract valued at $12.9 million for the rehabilitation of potable steel water pipelines, ranging from 47-inches to 94-inches in diameter, located in the New Territories of Hong Kong for the Government of Hong Kong Water Supplies Department.

Fyfe Hong Kong will install its patented Tyfo Fibrwrap system, a fiber reinforced polymer material that repairs, strengthens and retrofits large-diameter pipelines. Fyfe has been installing its Tyfo Fibrwrap system in Hong Kong for over seven years and is the leading provider of fiber reinforced polymer systems in Hong Kong.

This project, which will structurally rehabilitate 40-year old water mains that currently transport the majority of water from China into Hong Kong, is expected to begin during the third quarter of 2012 and be completed in 2015.
