Thompson Pump Hosts 23rd Annual Pumpology School

Thompson Pump & Manufacturing held their 23rd annual Pumpology School April 17-19, at their corporate facilities in Port Orange, FL.

Thompson Pump hosted 55 attendees from 15 states and seven foreign countries. The three-day workshop included training sessions for sales and service-oriented professionals on pumping fundamentals, dewatering and bypass applications, selecting the correct pumping equipment, designing, installing and maintaining pumping systems, troubleshooting, pump maintenance and more.

Pumpology School offers hands-on demonstrations and classroom training from industry experts. Upon completion of training and successfully passing a comprehensive examination, attendees are recognized as certified Pumpologist.

In more company news, Thompson Pump has announced that Bobby Thompson is their Branch Manager of the Year.

Of the 21 Thompson Pump branch operations nationwide, Thompson is the manager of the Panama City, FL, location and recently was promoted to territory manager which extends from Mobile, AL, to Tallahassee, FL, and includes southwestern Georgia and portions of southern Alabama.

Thompson, a 10-year veteran of the industry, directed the rentals, sales and service activities of the Panama City and Pensacola locations during 2012. Through his leadership, he reorganized and streamlined the branches’ operations, enhanced customer service in the region and exceeded revenue and profitability targets.
