China Society of Trenchless Technology holds 17th conference
The 2013 China International Trenchless Technology Conference & Exhibition was held from April 19 to 21 at the Suzhou International Expo Center. There were 975 guests from 25 provinces and autonomous regions in China and with nine countries and regions who attended the conference. The conference was hosted by the China Society of Trenchless Technology (CSTT).
Yan Chunwen, CSTT vice chairman, opened the conference with “The Report of Chinese Trenchless Industry in 2012”; Professor Samuel Ariaratnam, PhD, represented the International Society of Trenchless Technology with a report called “The Status of Global Horizontal Directional Drilling Pipe Construction”; and Mohd Syazwan, president of the Malaysia Society of Trenchless Technology shared information about the “Transformation of Construction in Underground Space for Malaysia in the 21st Century.”
The CSTT2012 Best Trenchless Equipment Award was given to DW/TXS Construction Equipment (Beijing) for their DDW-2000 horizontal directional drilling machine, which is also for sale in the United States. Jiang Zhiguang, general manager of Jiangsu Dilong Heavy Machinery Co. was selected as 2012 Person of the Year of China Trenchless Industry.
