The four-wheel-drive Cat 450F Backhoe Loader Center Pivot is powered by a Cat C4.4 ACERT engine meeting U.S. EPA Tier-4 Interim/EU Stage IIIB emission standards. The versatile 450F comes with a hydraulic thumb, pin-puller type coupler, and a range of compatible work tools, including buckets with integral forks, hammers and plate compactors. The engine delivers 396 pound/foot of torque and has a torque rise of more than 30 percent, allowing the 450F to power through tough applications. cat.com/requestCatinfo

John Deere

Powered by an IT4/ Stage III B John Deere PowerTech engine, the K-Series comes equipped with a 5-speed transmission that allows top speeds of 25 mph when roading. An optional AutoShift transmission enables smooth shifting and improves operator comfort by reducing the number of times the Transmission Control Lever needs to be actuated during operation. A single loader lever with integrated electro-hydraulic auxiliary loader control eliminates the need for a second lever when using a multi-purpose bucket. In addition, a complete redesign of the cab ventilation now circulates cab air from front-to-back, directing airflow where operators need it the most. 800.503.3373, deere.com

Volvo

The Volvo BL70B backhoe features a cast bucket linkage design that helps the bucket rotate 205 degrees allowing vertical digging in all positions without repositioning the machine. The boom allows excellent visibility into the trench, as well as enabling closer proximity to the truck for loading. The BL70B has a maximum retracted digging depth of 14 feet 9 inches and maximum extended digging depth of 18 feet 3 inches. 828.650.2000, volvo.com

New Holland Construction

C Series loader backhoes feature Tier 4 Interim engines ranging from 95 to 108 net hp, improved engine response, fuel efficiency and serviceability, and an optional auto ride control. With backhoe bucket breakout forces of 12,933 pounds/foot and lift capacities at 12 feet of 3,940 pounds, New Holland C Series loader backhoes excel in tough conditions, making these machines ideal for job tasks such as digging trenches or placing pipe. A tilt forward hood is easy to open, and provides wide access with low effort for routine maintenance needs. The C Series include long reach and tool carrier models. 888.365.6423, northamerica.construction.newholland.com
