Equipment Spotlight: Compact Track Loaders

Compact track loaders by John Deere, Caterpillar, Bobcat, CASE Construction Equipment, Volvo and New Holland.

John Deere
The John Deere 329E compact track loader features an 83 hp, Interim Tier 4-emission certified engine. The large-frame CTL boasts a flat floor design with 33 percent more foot room than previous models and lower cab noise levels also contribute to reduced operator fatigue and increased productivity. The 329E includes low-effort electro-hydraulic (EH) controls and an option to allow the operator to switch between three popular industry control patterns (ISO, H, and foot control patterns). 800.503.3373, deere.com

Caterpillar
The Cat 279D compact track loader, with its radial lift design, delivers mid-lift reach and digging performance with outstanding drawbar power. High performance power train provides maximum performance and production capability through the Electronic Torque Management system, standard two speed travel and an industry exclusive electronic hand/foot throttle with decel pedal capability. Electronically controlled Cat C3.3B engine provides high horsepower and torque while meeting U.S. EPA Tier 4 Final (EU Stage IIIB) emission standards. High Flow XPS hydraulic system is available for applications that demand maximum hydraulic work tool performance. The D Series models introduce a new standard in sealed and pressurized cab design. The “Cab-One” operator station is one-piece modular construction instead of the two-piece cab design. 309.675.1000, catrequests@cat.com

Bobcat

The new 74-hp Bobcat M-Series 600 frame-size compact track loaders provide operators with performance benefits, hydraulic power, comfort and easy serviceability all while meeting Tier 4 emissions standards without a diesel particulate filter (DPF). The hydraulic systems have been engineered for higher standard flow and pressure, which provides increased attachment performance. Engine horsepower and hydraulic flow are matched to the loader’s rated operating capacity, size and weight, producing a loader that can outperform higher-horsepower compact loaders. 866.823.7898, bobcatadvantage.com

CASE Construction Equipment

The Tier 4 Final TR270 Alpha Series compact track loader, an updated 74 HP model that increases bucket breakout force (7,270 pounds), torque (232 foot-pounds) and hydraulic flow (standard: 24.2 gpm; high-flow: 32.4 gpm) compared to the previous model. Ideal for construction due to its light weight (8,200 pounds), low ground pressure, narrow design (less than 66 inches) and attachment versatility, the TR270 offers excellent performance in a package designed for easy transportation and minimal impact on the jobsite. The updated TR270 has a rated operating capacity of 2,700 pounds (2,800 pounds with optional counterweight). The radial-lift arm design is ideal for digging and pushing, and the machine’s hinge-pin height is ideal for loading and unloading trucks. A 19.5-gallon fuel tank extends runtimes and ensures that the machine can work the entire day without refueling. 262.636.6011, casece.com

Volvo

The MCT110C is the latest addition to the high-performing C-Series line of compact track loaders from Volvo. With the addition of the 2,250 pound rated operating capacity MCT110C, Volvo now offers four tracked models — the radial lift MCT110C and the vertical lift MCT85C, MT125C and MCT135C. The MCT110C shares the same assortment of high-end features with the other compact track loaders and skid steer loaders. Most notably, the powerful Tier 4 Final four-cylinder engine (74 hp), which features an advanced combustion system that cuts emissions while increasing fuel economy. Due to the cooled exhaust gas recirculation (EGR), common rail system and fixed-geometry turbocharger, a diesel particulate filter isn’t required which is critical for such a compact machine. 828.650.2000, volvoce.com

New Holland

The model C227 compact track loader features radial-lift boom geometry, with the boom connected directly to the frame for outstanding pushing and excavating power. Maximum reach is achieved at roughly eye level during operation, making it ideal for loading and unloading flatbed trucks and trailers. Dozer-style undercarriage allows 200 Series compact track loaders to take command in muddy or sandy terrain, as well as on slopes. The simple, rigid-track frame offers greater durability and easier maintenance compared to suspension-track systems. For daily maintenance checkpoints, open the rear hood and door. The convenient flip-top cab allows you to tilt the entire cab assembly forward, if necessary, for complete access to your machine components. construction.newholland.com
