Godwin Smart Pumps

Xylem has introduced to the United States market the first of a new series of “smart” dewatering pumps.

The Godwin NC150S Dri-Prime pump is the first in the new Godwin “S” Series and features Godwin’s Field Smart Technology. This first-in-industry telemetry and wireless technology provides remote monitoring and control of the pump from any smartphone, tablet or desktop computer, according to Kevin Snow, Godwin global product manager.

“Cellular and satellite connectivity, and GPS enable the tracking, monitoring and control of the pump in real-time, wherever it is located,” Snow explained. “Imagine the value of not having to send someone to the construction site or lift station in the middle of the night, or over the weekend, to see if the pump is running properly, or to check fuel levels.”
The Godwin NC150S is available now for purchase or rent from Xylem’s 56 rental and service branches across the U.S., as well as from its extensive distributor network.

Godwin’s S Series pump features Xylem’s Flygt N-Technology, which has been proven as an unmatched, non-clog impeller in more than 300,000 locations globally over the past 20 years.
“With self-cleaning reliability and sustained hydraulic efficiency,” said Snow, “the proprietary non-clog technology ensures peak pump performance, even in the most challenging wastewater applications.”

Power

The NC150S diesel model is powered by a 62-horsepower Isuzu 4LE2X Final Tier 4 diesel engine. This 6-inch  pump also is available in 74-horsepower FT4 diesel engines provided by John Deere and JCB. The units are available on skids, trailers and with sound attenuated enclosures.

Snow added that smart design and manufacturing practices mean that all of the diesel engines and electric motors available on the Godwin NC150S deliver more uptime, with product reliability increased by an average of 20 percent.

The NC150S also features extended maintenance intervals and reduced service time – by 40 percent on average.

“For example, there is no need to separate the pump from the engine for compressor belt service, making it a simple 30-minute task,” said Snow. “A new cartridge-type, mechanical seal reduces installation and set-up time. An optimally placed sight glass makes it easy to tell when oil needs replacing, and a 25 percent increase in pump shaft diameter enables longer pump life.”

New wave

The Godwin S Series provides an example of Xylem’s commitment to offer products that support environmental sustainability. All diesel-powered S Series pumps will be equipped with Final Tier 4 engines that reduce emissions by 90 percent and decrease fuel consumption by 10 percent, on average.

“The NC150S is a best-in-class, smart dewatering pump that makes easy work of stringy, modern wastewater,” Snow said. “It has built-in intelligence to optimize performance and maximize uptime. Its unrivaled efficiency and reliability mean that customers can enjoy peace of mind knowing that whatever water challenge comes their way, this smart pump solution is equipped to handle it, and at a dramatically lower total cost of ownership.”
