Upper Trinity’s Patterson to Deliver UCT Sewer/Water Keynote

Larry N. Patterson, P.E., executive director of the Upper Trinity Regional Water District, will deliver the keynote address for the water and sewer industry at the annual Underground Construction Technology International Conference & Exhibition (UCT), Jan. 28–30, 2020.

The address will kick off the first day of the conference, Tuesday, Jan. 28, at 8:30 a.m. UCT is the leading industry event that covers the complex and multi-faceted underground infrastructure industry in a comprehensive manner.

Patterson has more than 40 years of experience in the water/wastewater utility industry. He joined Upper Trinity Regional Water District in 2002, after his retirement from the Dallas Water Utilities Department, where he served as assistant director for wastewater operations.

Patterson began his employment with Upper Trinity as the chief engineer and has steadily progressed through positions of increasing responsibility, leading to his recent appointment as executive director. Upper Trinity builds and operates water and wastewater facilities that serve 25 communities.

Patterson is an active member of American Water Works Association, Water Environment Federation, Water Environment Association of Texas, American Society of Civil Engineers and both the Texas and National Association of Clean Water Agencies (NACWA). He served 13 years on the NACWA Board of Directors representing EPA Region 6.

Patterson also served for 30 years in the Texas Army National Guard as an engineering officer, ending his military career with the rank of Brigadier General. He holds a Bachelor’s in civil engineering from Texas A&M University and a Master’s in environmental sciences from the University of Texas at Dallas. •
