In Memoriam

Gary Lienberger, of Hopkinsville, KY, a legend in trenchless methods for the utilities industry, died of natural causes, on Aug. 13, at age 75.

Lienberger

Early in his career, he gained valuable experience and insight working at several engineering, contractor and manufacturing companies – and with their clients – providing products and solutions for repair and replacement of underground infrastructure.

In 1986, he shared and expanded that knowledge and expertise by starting Lienberger and Associates, consulting various companies in North and South America, on trenchless rehabilitation methods and projects. He also worked closely with homeowners’ insurance firms and municipalities.

Comprehensive consulting services encompassed pipelines, from 6- to 109-inch diameter, for sewers and storm drains; manhole rehabilitation; and a lateral lining company, from 1 inch and above, using a variety of methods and all sizes and shapes of structures.
It could also include managing such projects – any part(s) or in its entirety.

Giving back to the industry, he promoted it at every opportunity, and frequently presented to and instructed clients, peers and end-users firms and end-users on the latest technology and projects. UC
